Choosing DIY wedding flower buckets on PEI

For a DIY wedding on PEI, choose a Grower's Choice bucket if you are happy with a seasonal mix, or ask about Preferred Palette if particular colours matter to your plans. Bloom Where You Are Planted Flower Farm in Emyvale offers both. The flowers arrive as loose stems, ready for you to arrange.

What is included in a flower bucket?

Bloom's Grower's Choice bucket contains 50 stems for $115 CAD, selected from what is flowering at the farm. Preferred Palette costs $135 CAD. You can request a colour palette, subject to what is available. A half bucket of foliage and texture costs $50 CAD for 25 to 30 stems.

If you are planning a small celebration, ask Monique about the quantity you need. The arrangement work stays with you. Allow time to prepare the vases and put the flowers together before the wedding.

Should I choose the seasonal mix or request colours?

A seasonal mix suits a wedding where the flowers can bring their own colours to the tables. If your plans depend on white flowers or a specific colour combination, send that request before ordering Preferred Palette so Monique can confirm what the field can provide.

Photos can help explain a colour preference, but a photo of a finished bouquet cannot establish which stems will be flowering on your date. Ask about the overall palette and suitable alternatives, especially if one particular flower is essential.

How can I decide how many buckets to order?

Count the arrangements you want to make, then test one with the actual vase size you intend to use. A narrow bud vase might need only a few stems; a wide table arrangement can use much more. Include ceremony flowers and any personal bouquets in the same tally.

For example, 20 bud vases with three stems in each would use 60 stems before any other arrangements. That is a planning example, not a promise about how a mixed bucket will divide. Some stems will suit a particular vase better than others.

What should I confirm before ordering?

Send your wedding date and colour preferences with an outline of the arrangements you plan to make. Ask Monique to confirm seasonal availability and pickup timing before committing to a design built around one flower.

  • Count the vases, personal bouquets and ceremony arrangements.
  • Identify who will collect the buckets and arrange the stems.
  • Choose a cool holding space and clean containers for the flowers.
  • Confirm the order and pickup details with the farm.
